Password Requirements for PubDb internal access
The PubDb uses your unix userid plus your Oracle password (the one used to update your personal information in the Personnel database; it is different from the usual Hypernews password). The password prompt box indicates this. It will say

Enter username for Hypernews at www.slac.stanford.eduThe original announcement of the PubDb (see http://babar-hn.slac.stanford.edu:5090/HyperNews/get/DCItf/99.html) described this. If you don't know your BaBar oracle password, you can obtain it by sending an email request to email@example.com.
Note that documentation for BABAR-specific code packages, e.g. bbsim or online code, will be kept along with that package in the $BFDIST/releases/current/<package-name>/doc directories. Scan the $BFDIST/releases/current area if you are in search of code documentation and are unsure of the package name.
