- Latest News (Oct. 6, 2009)
- There is a new system in place to see if your SP request has been completed.
- It requires you to check the output of a standard script that gives the percentage completed based on the luminosity for each month.
- The status files are kept in directories which can be accessed via the below links.
- To find your request status:
- Go here to find your request.
- Click on the request and find the Unique ID for your request.
- Go to the directory which has the SP run cycle pertinent to your request (SP10, SP9, SP8).
- The files in here have a defined naming scheme: Request_[Unique ID]_Release[release checked]_Runs[runs checked].txt
- The default behavior is for a set of standard releases to be checked for a particular cycle. e.g. SP10 will use 24\*.
- If you would like your request checked for a particular release, email the SP coordinator.
- Directories containing the status files.
- FAQ:
- Q: Not all of my modes were produced at 100%? Should I be concerned?
- A: If the output is between 90-110% it is generally not considered to be a major issue. But this is up to each
analysis. Note that small requests (500-1000 events/ifb) will be more sensitive to this for months where less data was taken.
- Q: If my jobs didn't complete should I email the SP coordinator?
- A: Yes! We can't keep track of all the different requests, so it is up to each requestor to keep an eye on their
SP output. We hope that this tool makes it easier for all concerned.
- Q: If I have questions what should I do?
- A: Email the SP coordinator with your Unique ID. That will make is much easier on us to check things out.
- Q: It looks like some of my modes were produced at 200% or 300%! What happened?
- A: It may be that some other analysts requested even more SP for that mode. Email the SP coordinator and we can check that.
- Q: My request specified a particular release. Can I get a status report for my request for a specific release?
- A: Sure thing! Just email the SP coordinator the Unique ID and the release(s) for which you want these generated.
- Recent News (March. 30, 2009)
- We are currently in the process of regenerating SP for the Y2S and Y3S running periods. This is to account for
new background collections, currently implemented.
- Both generic and signal modes are being regenerated.
- To see the signal modes generated for the two periods, see the following links.
- Recent News (Oct. 29, 2008)
- New information on how to make an SP request added here!
- A large number of standard signal modes have been produced (or are being produced) for SP10 data.
Check here to see if your mode of interest is listed.
- If you have requested your own signal modes, check here to
see if they have been submitted (or even if we have the request!).
- Recent News (August 8, 2008)
- Matt Bellis is currently transitioning to take over SP
coordination. Go Matt!
- Recent News (January 30, 2008)
- Documentation on SP10 production is currently in
construction. See links below.
- David Norvil Brown and Yue Hu took over SP coordination
from Peter Kim on about September 1, 2007. Thanks to Peter
for his excellent work.
- Current News (June 18, 2007)
- Recent News (June 5, 2007)
- SP9/Run6 production now in 22.1.1d with kk2f updates.
- Due to various complications, SP9 is very much behind schedule:
New target is to generate Generics and Priority Signal modes (Jan-Apr 2007)
by the June 15 deadline and the rest soon after.
- Old News (May 15, 2007)
- SP9/Run6 production started with Release 22.1.1c.
- Plan is to generate all Generic Events and most of Signal Modes for Jan-May 2007,
to be available for Summer conferences.
- SP6 is officially retired.
- Old News (Dec 15, 2006)
- SP8 production of both Generic and Signal Modes is complete.
- SP5 is officially retired.
- Old News (June 6, 2006)
- SP8 production resumes after Fixing the Background Frame Bug (First 2000 background frames
in each month being used repeatedly for the whole month). Generation of both Generic and
Signal MC in Run5b, up to Apr. 2006, will be finished by end of June.
- Sample Signal modes (See the postings in validboard-hn by AC) generated to study the physics
impact can be found in SP-xxxx-F2KTest dataset. New signal requests made in June are also
stored in the same F2KTest dataset for now.
- Old News (Apr 1, 2006)
- WARNING NOTICE: Early SP8 Events with GEANT bug are now marked as "bad". To access those events, use both SP-XXXX and SP-XXXX-G4Bug datasets/tags. Complete Geant-bug-free SP8 Production (up to Jan. 2006) should be finished in a few weeks.
- Current Releases
- SP9 release: 22.3.0a/22.3.2c (For Run 6)
- SP8 release: 18.7.0p/18.7.0s (For Run 1-5, ending in Aug. 2006)
- SP6 release: 14.4.7c (Run 4) ** Last release **
- SP5 release: 12.6.1a (Runs 1-3) ** Last release **
- What's already available?
- For CM2 data in general use BbkSPModes and BbkDatasetTcl.
For example
- BbkSPModes --decfile B0B0bar_Breco_DX+DstarX_cocktail.dec
- BbkDatasetTcl SP-2222
- For SP8/SP9 data use 'BbkDatasetTcl --dbname bbkr18' (default on 18 and 22 series releases)
- For SP5/SP6 data use 'BbkDatasetTcl --dbname bbkr14' (default on 14 and 16 series releases)
- (Obsolete) For Objectivity data use skimData.
For example
- $BFROOT/bin/skimData --tableprefix objy -I ">=A12.4.0b" -s SP
--spruns 'B- -> D0
K*- (D0 -> K- pi+ pi+ pi-)' --tcl --goodruns 2001000-2999990
- (Obsolete) Look at this SP5 inventory page;
- (Obsolete) Use the search page;
- Make a Request:
- Requests can only be made by your AWG representative.
- Check if there is an existing mode (with or w/o existing MC) you could use.
- If you need new MC, get permission from your AWG Convenors.
- Go to this web page to add new modes and/or make requests.
- Track Your Request:
- There is currently no good way to track a request.
- Use BbkDatasetTcl to check data availability.
- (Obsolete) To find out the status of your request, use bfreport or colldb
or skimData.
For example
- bfreport -d 550630
- bfreport -G 4 -d -c "B- -> D0 K*- (D0 -> K- pi+ pi+ pi-)"
- SP4:
- For SP4 go to this web page.
